Super-soft and healthy beetroot buns are such a steal! These mini buns are so easy to make and so fulfilling to have!
Makes 4 Buns
Ingredients
1/2 cup beetroot, peeled and pureed
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour or atta
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil
6 tbsp plain curd or yogurt
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, add curd, beetroot puree and oil and whisk well.
Sieve the dry ingredients into the bowl, atta, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.
Mix them well and knead it into a soft dough.
Continue to knead it for 10 minutes and then keep it covered in a bowl and brush it with some oil.
Allow it to prove for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, knead the dough once again and cut it into 4 parts.
Tuck each part into a round ball and press it gently on the baking tray lined with butter paper.
Brush it with some oil and sprinkle some sesame seeds over each bun.
Preheat the oven or OTG at 200˚C for 15-20 minutes.
Bake the burger buns at 180˚C for 30 minutes.
