Makes 18-20 pieces
Ingredients
1 cup ghee or clarified butter
3 cups besan or gram flour
1.5 tsp cardamom or elaichi powder
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup + 1 tbsp water
Chopped pistachios, for garnish
Instructions
In a pan, melt the ghee.
Then add the besan and roast it on a low flame for 15-20 minutes, till a nutty fragrance comes.
In another pan, add sugar and water and keep stirring it till sugar melts.
Once besan has roasted well, add the sugar syrup to it.
Add elaichi powder to it, while continuously stirring.
Transfer it to a greased deep dish or plate. Level it with the back of a spoon or spatula.
Garnish with chopped pistachios and refrigerate for an hour.
