Butterscotch Peda | Diya Peda | Using Milk Powder | No Khoya or Mawa

Delicious and melt-in-the-mouth Butterscotch Peda is super easy to make, using milk powder.


Makes 18-20

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups milk powder

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 2 tbsp roasted sooji or semolina

  • 3 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts, grinded

  • 3-4 drops butterscotch essence or aroma

  • 2-3 drops yellow colour, optional

  • 2 tbsp ghee or clarified butter

Instructions

  1. In a pan, add ghee and allow it to melt.

  2. Then add milk and milk powder and whisk well to avoid lumps.

  3. Add grinded cashews, sugar, roasted sooji and mix well.

  4. Cook it on a low flame till the mixture begins to come together and leave the sides of the pan. This will take about 15 minutes.

  5. Finally add in the butterscotch aroma and the delicious Butterscotch Diya Peda is ready!
