The decadent Gajar Ka Halwa, takes time too cook but the end result is just mouth-watering.
Serves 5
Ingredients
1 kg carrots, grated
3 litres milk
4-5 tbsp ghee or clarified butter
1/4 cup almonds and cashew nuts, chopped
1 tsp elaichi or cardamom powder
300 gms sugar
Instructions
Boil the milk in a large pan or kadhai.
Once boiled, add the grated carrots and cook on low flame for 2 hours or till the milk has completely been absorbed.
Add elaichi powder and sugar. Cook on low flame till sugar dissolves completely.
In another pan, add ghee and saute the nuts till slightly golden.
Transfer the ghee and nuts to the halwa and cook it for another 5-7 minutes.
Winter Special Gajar Halwa or Gajrela is ready!
