Homemade Garlic Bread | Cheese Garlic Breadsticks

Yummy & delicious Cheese Garlic breadsticks that are super easy to make and so amazing to have! Perfect tea time snack & dinner time starter!



Ingredients:

  • 1/4th cup warm water

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon instant dry yeast

  • 1.5 cup refined flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste or garlic powder

  • Oil as needed

  • 2 tablespoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Method:

  1. Add warm water in a cup, further mix, sugar and yeast. Cover & keep it aside, after few minutes you’ll find the mixture has turned frothy.

  2. In a mixing bowl, add refined flour, garlic paste/powder and salt, mix well, further add the yeast mixture and mix well, knead a soft dough, add oil to the dough and knead well to make a smooth dough. Knead for 5-10 minutes.

  3. Apply oil on the surface to prevent the dough from drying, cover it with a damp cloth and rest the dough for 1.5 hours.

  4. The dough will double in size, knead the dough once again to puncture the dough, divide the dough into equal size dough balls and rest them again for 15 minutes, make sure you apply oil on their surface, to prevent it from drying.

  5. Sprinkle some cornmeal or refined flour and flatten it with your hands, shape into an average size chapati, you can do it with hands or rolling pin.

  6. Apply some butter, cheese and garlic powder over the flattened dough and fold it in half.

  7. Grease the baking tray with butter, place the folded dough/uncooked bread and apply melted butter over it, sprinkle some oregano over it and make incision/cuts over the bread.

  8. Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 230℃ for 15-18 minutes.
