Homemade Gulab Jamun is made using milk powder and the result are these super-soft, melt-in-the-mouth Gulab Jamuns.
Makes 15-16
Ingredients
1 cup milk powder
Pinch of baking soda
3 tbsp maida or all purpose flour
1 tsp ghee or clarified butter
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp curd or yogurt
Oil, for frying
1 tbsp pistachios, chopped
1.5 cup sugar
2 cup water
Instructions
To make the sugar syrup, take a pan and add sugar and water to it.
Add cardamom powder to it and mix well to make sugar syrup.
In a bowl, add milk powder, maida, salt and baking soda to it.
Add curd and ghee to make a soft dough.
Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan or Kadhai.
Make small balls from the dough and roll them well, making sure there are no cracks.
Fry them well from both sides on medium flame.
Drain off the excess oil and take out on a tissue paper.
Add the Gulab Jamuns to the sugar syrup and keep aside for atleast an hour.
Enjoy warm homemade Gulab Jamun.
