Serves 6
Ingredients
- 1 cup atta or whole wheat flour 
- 1 cup ghee or clarified butter 
- 1 cup powdered sugar 
- 1 tsp elaichi powder 
- 3 cups water 
- Nuts, for garnish 
Instructions
- In a pan, take sugar and water and bring it to a boil. 
- In a large kadhai, heat ghee and add atta once the ghee has melted. 
- Roast it on low flame for 30 minutes until atta turns golden brown and becomes aromatic. 
- If the mixture turns dry, you may add a tbsp of ghee. 
- Add elaichi powder to it. 
- Now slowly add the sugar syrup to the roasted atta. Add in small batches while stirring continuously. 
- Once the halwa begins to leave the sides, it is ready. 
- Garnish with some nuts and serve warm.
