Ingredients
1 cup atta or whole wheat flour
1 cup ghee or clarified butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp elaichi powder
3 cups water
Nuts, for garnish
Instructions
In a pan, take sugar and water and bring it to a boil.
In a large kadhai, heat ghee and add atta once the ghee has melted.
Roast it on low flame for 30 minutes until atta turns golden brown and becomes aromatic.
If the mixture turns dry, you may add a tbsp of ghee.
Add elaichi powder to it.
Now slowly add the sugar syrup to the roasted atta. Add in small batches while stirring continuously.
Once the halwa begins to leave the sides, it is ready.
Garnish with some nuts and serve warm.
