Khoya Barfi | Raksha Bandhan Special

Such a delightful yet easy recipe to make for the forthcoming festive season. Enjoy!


Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons ghee

  • 200 grams khoya

  • 2 tablespoons milk + 7-8 saffron strands

  • 2-3 drops yellow food colour

  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar

  • 1 tablespoons Rasmalai Spread, optional

  • few pistachios, chopped

  • few saffron strands, for garnish

Method:

  1. Add 2 teaspoon ghee in a pan and add khoya to it.

  2. Cook it on a low flame with saffron infused milk until it melts completely.

  3. Add 4 tablespoons sugar and them mix well.

  4. Add rasmalai spread for an extra rich flavour.

  5. Cook for 10-12 minutes till the mixture begins to leave the sides of the pan.

  6. Then add few drops of yellow food colour and mix well.

  7. Transfer to a bowl and allow it to cool a little.

  8. Then transfer it to a parchment sheet and spread it using your fingers or spatula.

  9. Using a cookie cutter, cut into desired shape and size.

  10. Garnish with chopped pistachios & saffron strands and serve your Khoya Barfi!
