Ingredients
For kofte:
250 gms lauki, washed, peeled and grated
2-3 boiled potatoes, boiled and mashed
2 tbsp besan or gram flour
1 tsp black pepper powder
1.5 tsp salt, or to taste
For curry:
1 tbsp oil
1-2 tej patta or bay leaves
1 tsp jeera or cumin seeds
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 onion, chopped
3-4 tomatoes, pureed
1 tsp amchoor or dry mango powder
2 tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp jeera or cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder or dhania
1 tsp turmeric powder or haldi
1/2 tsp garam masala
Few coriander leaves, for garnish
Instructions
To make the kofte, mix all the ingredients together and form a dough.
Make round or oval balls from it and deep fry them in hot oil.
For the curry, in a pressure cooker, add some oil and jeera seeds and bay leaves.
Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped onions and cook till they become brown in colour.
Then add pureed tomatoes and all the spices to it.
Pressure cook it for 5-6 whistles.
Add the fried koftas to it and serve garnished with some fresh coriander leaves.
