Mango Date Launji

Ingredients

  • 2 medium size raw mangoes, shredded

  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder

  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder or elaichi powder

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 5-6 seedless dates, cut into half

  • 1 tbsp vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp kalonji

  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a pan, cook shredded raw mangoes with some water.

  2. Add in ginger powder, elaichi powder, cinnamon powder, red chilli powder, chilli flakes and chopped dates.

  3. Then add in the brown sugar, kalonji and allow it to boil.

  4. Continue to cook it till its consistency thickens. This will take about 15 minutes.

  5. Then transfer it to a bowl and allow int to cool.

  6. The delicious mango date launji is ready.
