Rice Kheer | Chawal Ki Kheer | Festive Sweets



Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 1 litre full fat milk

  • 1 bowl rice, boiled

  • 1 tsp ealichi powder

  • 4 tbsp sugar

  • 5-6 drops kewra essence

  • nuts for garnishing

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, add milk and boil it.

  2. Once it boils, lower the flame and let it cook.

  3. Churn the cooked rice in a blender once to reduce the size of the rice grains

  4. Now add rice to the milk and simmer for 40-45 minutes till the quantity is reduced to 1/2 of the original. Keep stirring at intervals.

  5. Add sugar, elaichi powder and kewra essence once the quantity is reduced to half and simmer for another 15 minutes.

  6. Once the quantity becomes 1/3 and it thickens, switch off the flame and take out in a serving bowl.

  7. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve hot or cold as desired.
