Sabudana Vada | Vrat Ka Khana



Makes 25 Vadas

Ingredients

  • Oil for frying

  • 1 bowl sabudana, washed and soaked

  • 4 boiled potatoes, mashed

  • 1 medium size onion, chopped

  • few coriander leaves, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

  • 1/2 tsp jeera powder

  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp besan or gram flour

  • 1 tbsp roasted peanut powder

  • 1 tbsp chaat masala, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the sabudana for 4 hours. Strain the water from the sabudana.

  2. Heat oil in a kadhai for frying.

  3. In a bowl, take sabudana, potatoes, onions, green chillies and coriander leaves, mix them well.

  4. Now add all the spices with besan and form a soft dough.

  5. Once the oil is hot, lower the flame to medium and fry 2-3 sabudana vadas.

  6. Take small portion of the batter, roll it into a ball and flatten using both hands.

  7. Fry till golden brown. Take them out on a plate and sprinkle some chaat masala and serve with hot tea.
