Sev Using Sev Maker | Besan Sev

Super easy recipe to make sev at home using a sev maker.


Makes 2 Jars

Ingredients

For Sev:

  • 1 cup besan or gram flour

  • 1/4 cup rice flour

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder

  • Pinch of hing

  • 1 tsp salt

  • Oil, for frying

  • Water, for kneading

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, sieve besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, hing and salt.

  2. Using water, knead it into a soft and smooth dough.

  3. Grease a chakli maker and place a slide with fine holes.

  4. Roll the dough and insert it into the maker.

  5. Heat oil and press the sev into hot oil in a circular manner.

  6. Fry until golden and crisp from both sides.

  7. Enjoy crispy Sev with tea on a cold winter evening.
