Sprouts & Soya Chunks Momos | Healthy Momos | Steamed Soya Chunks Momos

Combination of sprouts and soya chunks gives a very meaty texture to these momos. Sprouts & Soya Chunks Momos is a superb snack option for all vegetarians.


Makes 20-22 Momos

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour/all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup ice cold water, for kneading

For Filling:

  • 1/2 cup green gram sprouts

  • 1/2 cup soya chunks, boiled

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1 tbsp pizza topping/sauce

  • 1 tsp oil

Instructions

  1. For the filling, in a pan, heat oil and add sprouts and soya chunks.

  2. Sauté them well.

  3. Add salt, black pepper powder and pizza sauce and mix well.

  4. Cover and cook for 2 minutes and keep it aside to cool.

  5. In another bowl, add flour, oil and salt.

  6. Knead it into a soft and stiff dough using ice cold water.

  7. Cover and keep aside.

  8. Now in a sauce pan or cooker, add 1 inch water and allow it to boil.

  9. Keep a stand and place a tray with holes or an idli stand.

  10. Cover it and lower the flame.

  11. Take the dough and divide it into 20 parts.

  12. Roll each part using a rolling pin into a small and thin circle.

  13. Now put 1-2 tsp filling inside each circle and pleat it to form a momo.

  14. Keep the momos inside the steamer, in the idli stand and let it steam cook for 20 minutes.

  15. After 20 minutes, remove the momos from the pan and your steamed Sprouts & Soya Chunks Momos are ready!
