Steamed Paneer Momos | Cottage Cheese Momos

Softest and most delicious Steamed Paneer Momos, are made with fresh homemade paneer and some pizza sauce.


Makes 20-22 Momos

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour/all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup ice cold water, for kneading

For Filling:

  • 250 gms paneer, crumbled

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1 tbsp pizza topping/sauce

Instructions

  1. For the filling, take 250 gms crumbled paneer in a bowl, add salt, black pepper powder and pizza topping and mix it well.

  2. In another bowl, add flour, oil and salt.

  3. Knead it into a soft and stiff dough using ice cold water.

  4. Cover and keep aside.

  5. Now in a sauce pan or cooker, add 1 inch water and allow it to boil.

  6. Keep a stand and place a tray with holes or an idli stand.

  7. Cover it and lower the flame.

  8. Take the dough and divide it into 20 parts.

  9. Roll each part using a rolling pin into a small and thin circle.

  10. Now put 1-2 tsp filling inside each circle and pleat it to form a momo.

  11. Keep the momos inside the steamer, in the idli stand and let it steam cook for 20 minutes.

  12. After 20 minutes, remove the momos from the pan and your steamed Paneer Momos are ready!
