Diwali season is here and so are its festivities. Lets begin with the easy tomato sev or tamatar ke sev that you can make and easily store for this season.
Makes 2 Jars
Ingredients
4 small tomatoes, chopped and pureed
2 cup besan or gram flour
1/2 cup rice flour
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
Pinch of hing
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter, softened
1/2 tsp carom seeds or ajwain
Oil, for frying
Water, for kneading
Instructions
In a bowl, sieve besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, hing and salt.
Sieve the tomato paste in it.
Add softened butter and mix well using your fingers.
Add ajwain or carom seeds and add water to knead it into a soft and smooth dough.
Grease a chakli maker and place a slide with fine holes.
Roll the dough and insert it into the maker.
Heat oil and press the sev into hot oil in a circular manner.
Fry until golden and crisp from both sides.
Enjoy Tamatar ke Sev with tea on a cold winter evening.
