The super healthy and delicious Whole Wheat Jeera Cookies are the most perfect tea time snack.
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 cup salted butter, softened
3 cups whole wheat flour or atta
2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp jeera or cumin seeds
3/4 cup milk
Instructions
In a large bowl, take softened butter and whisk it well until smooth and fluffy.
Sieve into the butter, wheat flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Then add the jeera or cumin seeds and milk.
Knead it gently into a soft and stiff dough.
Divide it into 3 parts. To one part add saffron colour and to one add green colour. Shape each of them into cylindrical shaped dough and then place the green dough at the bottom, top it with the white dough and then the saffron dough.
Cling wrap the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven at 180˚C for 15 minutes.
In a baking tray, place a parchment paper and brush it with some oil.
After 30 minutes, cut the dough into thick slices and place on the baking tray.
Bake for 20-25 minutes at 180˚C .
Whole Wheat Jeera Cookies are ready!
