Make the easiest and crunchiest whole wheat tarts with just 3 ingredients. Fill them up with your favourite fillings and serve for snacks or dinner!
Makes 12
Ingredients
1 + 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup butter, at room temperature
3-4 tbsp ice cold water
Oil, for greasing
Instructions
Firstly sieve the flour and salt in a bowl.
Rub the butter into the flour using your fingertips and mix well.
Gradually begin adding ice-cold water and knead well to make a stiff dough.
Refrigerate it for at least 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, knead the dough again and divide it into 12 portions.
Now using a rolling pin and little flour, roll each portion into a round circle or cut it using a katori or cookie cutter.
With a fork, prick the tart.
Grease the tart mould with little oil and then place the tarts into it, pressing gently.
Pre-heat the oven at 200˚C for 15-20 minutes.
Bake the tarts at 200˚C for 20 minutes or till lightly golden.
Cool the tarts and then fill it with your favourite fillings and enjoy!
